FAQs

Exploring our common questions answered.

A whole-home water filtration system treats water at the main point of entry, so clean, filtered water is available throughout the house for drinking, cooking, bathing, and cleaning.

Reverse osmosis pushes water through a semipermeable membrane that removes dissolved contaminants like chlorine, heavy metals, and other impurities, producing purified water for drinking and cooking.

It depends on the system and on your water. For most systems, filters are replaced every 6 to 12 months. We tell you what yours needs at installation, and you can call us any time to check.

Often, yes. In New York City a lot of the housing stock predates modern plumbing standards, and what happens to water between the street and the kitchen tap depends on what it travels through. That is why we test at your tap rather than quoting from an address.

On a city supply the usual ones are chlorine and chloramine, the disinfectants added to the water, along with lead that can come from old service lines and plumbing, sediment picked up in a building's own pipes, and the taste and odor all of those leave behind. Which of those matter for your house depends on your building and your water, which is why we test first.

Systems are sized to maintain normal household pressure. Correct sizing is the whole game here, and it is why we look at your plumbing and your usage before quoting.
